A Houston firefighter was injured as crews responded to the same house twice overnight Monday after fires broke out at the residence.
Firefighters were first called about an electrical issue that caused smoke in the attic of a home in the northwest section of the city, KHOU-TV reports. The family left the house after the power was turned off.
Crews were called back at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday when a large fire erupted at the residence. Video captured flames shooting through the roof as firefighters returned to the scene.
During the fire, one firefighter suffered a shoulder injury that was considered minor. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, KPRC-TV reports.
Firefighters were still working at the scene as of 5:30 a.m., according to KHOU.
While firefighters were responding to this call, crews also were battling a massive apartment complex fire in the southeast section of the city. The quickly spreading fire multiple residents, but firefighters were able to contain the flames, KHOU added.
